Collisions such as the Portage Park motorcycle accident discussed above can have many causes. Distracted driving often results in such collisions. However, there can be other reasons, such as a motorist “not seeing” the traveling motorcycle. Yet another reason may be an error in the motorist’s driving. The motorist may not realize that the motorcycle is closer than it originally appears.

When a riders dies due to the negligence of a motorist, relevant parties may be able to successfully file a wrongful death lawsuit. Such lawsuits are further discussed on the “Wrongful Death Lawsuits” page.
