The accident involved a car hitting a pole, possibly at a high rate of speed, at approximately 2:50 a.m. Occupants of the vehicle had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Chicago Fire Department. Four people were injured during the accident and taken to area hospitals.
Alcohol may have played a role in the accident, according to media sources.

There was a fatal bicycle accident this morning at East Frontage Road and Higgins Road in Schaumburg, IL.

The crash happened about 9 a.m. when a car that had been northbound on Illinois 53 exited onto eastbound Higgins Road (Illinois 72) and hit a bicyclist, according to Illinois State Police Elgin District Trooper Douglas Yorke.
“Apparently he was making a turn and a bicycle was crossing at the same time,”’ Yorke said.
The bicyclist was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois and pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m.

There was an accident early this morning involving a semi truck and SUV on Dearborn Street in Chicago.
According to Chicago Police, the accident happened at approximately 2:10 a.m. in the 600 block of North Dearborn Street, when the semi truck was traveling north on Dearborn. The truck is reported to have run a red light and struck a SUV that was traveling east on Ohio Street.
There was an 11-month-old girl in the back seat of the SUV. Although she was being held by a female passenger at the time of the accident, she was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. She was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital.
The driver of the truck has been identified as David Lecher, 39, of Villa Grove. The driver of the SUV has been identified as Cresencio Acuna, 31, of Chicago.

There was a fatal accident this morning on the Kennedy Expressway at Cumberland Avenue involving a semi truck and three cars.

However, it is being widely reported that the accident happened at approximately 6:00 a.m., according to the Illinois State Police. One man, said to be in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Two other people were injured and taken to the hospital.

There was a motorcycle accident early this morning in Chicago’s Marquette Park neighborhood.
The accident involved a motorcycle with a passenger crashing into a parked Chicago Police car at 12:45 a.m. at South Western Avenue and West 71st Street.
During the accident, the motorcycle’s driver, said to be a 40-year-old male, was ejected from the motorcycle. His injuries included broken bones.
The passenger, said to be a 22-year-old woman, was pinned under the police car following the accident; the Chicago Fire Department was called to extract her from under the car. She suffered broken bones and other injuries.
Both the motorcyclist and the passenger were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Police believe that either drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.

There was a fatal car accident early this morning (April 6) in Niles, Illinois.
The accident happened when a vehicle was traveling south on Caldwell Avenue, southeast of Waukegan Road, left the roadway and struck a tree. The accident happened shortly after 2:00 a.m., according to Niles Police.
The man, who died at the accident scene, has been identified as Timothy Thomas, of Chicago.
The accident remains under investigation.

According to Chicago Police, the accident happened at approximately 9:10 p.m., when a 1993 Honda was driving eastbound on Howard Street “at a high speed” when it veered off the roadway and struck a tree.
One person, Kevoyn Cox, 18, of Evanston, died following the accident, and four others were injured and taken to area hospitals.
