There was a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday morning (September 21, 2017) in Glencoe. The motorcycle accident only involved the motorcycle (i.e. it was a single-vehicle accident) that occurred just before 7:00 a.m. The accident scene was at the intersection of Lake-Cook and Sheridan Roads.
Details regarding the crash and its cause appear to be limited at this time. An excerpt regarding the accident, from the September 21, 2017 Glencoe News article titled “Bourbonnais man killed in Glencoe motorcycle crash,” quoting Glencoe Deputy Chief Richard Weiner:
Weiner said the single-vehicle crash took place in the curve of the intersection. The mishap closed the intersection for more than six and a half hours; Weiner said it was reopened to traffic shortly after 1:30 p.m.
The motorcyclist was identified as George Berdebes, 29, of Bourbonnais. He died at the accident scene.
The accident investigation is being conducted by the Glencoe Police Department as well as NORTAF (the North Regional Task Force).
