Fatal Homewood Motorcycle Accident Involving Car-Motorcycle Collision

There was a fatal Homewood motorcycle accident Saturday (July 7, 2018) morning in Homewood.  While the accident remains under investigation, the collision appears to involve a car that made a left-hand turn in front of an oncoming motorcycle.

An excerpt concerning the Homewood motorcycle accident, from the July 10, 2018 Chicago Sun-Times article titled “Motorcyclist killed in Homewood crash“:

A Nissan Altima was northbound at 10:11 a.m. when it made a left turn into a parking lot in the 18200 block of Halsted Street in Homewood, according to a statement from Homewood police. A southbound motorcycle driven by 37-year-old Kyle Ladewig then hit the passenger side of the Nissan.

Ladewig, of Steger, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment of his accident injuries.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he was pronounced dead at 11 a.m.  A subsequent autopsy revealed that Ladewig died from his accident injuries.

The driver of the Nissan Altima was not injured during the collision.

This fatal Homewood motorcycle accident remains under investigation by the Homewood Police Department and the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team.
