According to Illinois State Police (ISP), at approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning, a driver of a Toyota Corolla lost control of the car while traveling westbound on I-90 near Barrington Road. The car hit a light pole and landed on the opposing lanes of I-90. In this accident, two people died and a third vehicle occupant was hospitalized.
Another car crash occurred when a car collided with a police car that had shut down the roadway.
According to the February 9, 2014 CBS Chicago article titled “Black Ice Believed To Be Responsible For Two Fatal Crashes Sunday Morning,” Illinois State Police say ice is also creating problematical driving conditions on I-55 today.
